Colin was born in Farmington Hills, MI and moved to Chicago when he was 10 years old. At the age of eleven, his family moved to a small town south of Chicago where he got introduced to acting at ‘The Illinois Theatre Center’ close to where he grew up in Crete. After doing a couple of professional plays, high school sports took over and his focus became going to college and studying to attend medical school. After playing a year of college football at Illinois Wesleyan University, he transferred to The University of Iowa where he graduated with a degree in Biology/Pre-Med.
On a whim, he attended a model/talent search event in Chicago and it wasn’t too long before he was traveling to Europe and working with some of the top designers and photographers in the world. Medical school was put on hold as he began doing campaigns and walking the runways for the likes of Calvin Klein, Versace, and Giorgio Armani to name a few. This led to his moving to New York City where he continued to work in fashion and began to revisit his roots in acting.
It wasn’t too long before he was portraying the infamous, Erica Kane’s son on the long lived daytime drama, ‘All My Children’ which soon led to roles on such shows as ‘Melrose Place’, ‘Rizzoli and Isles’ and ‘The Client List.’ He has also starred in several films including the romantic comedy ‘Something Borrowed’ and ‘Open Road.’ Upcoming projects include the pilot ‘Puckheads’ with noted Chicago producer Mark Vadik, an as yet untitled ‘Detroit Love Story’and a guest starring role on ‘Chicago Fire.’
Colin also is the creator of a customizable t-shirt company called “Shout Out!” that allows kids and adults to create changeable messages on their shirts. Colin uses “Shout Out!” as a platform for spreading his message about the importance of education and self-expression and regularly participates in Children’s Hospital’s “Literally Healing” bedside reading program which serves as the official charity partner of “Shout Out!”. Colin also enjoys giving motivational speeches at schools and youth centers and as a advisory board member at the Geffen Theatre is presently working on an anti-‘bullying’ event and documentary.
Colin loves to compete in marathons and triathlons and has helped raise money for numerous charities and organizations such as ‘Team For Kids’, ‘The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society,’ as well as St. Jude’s, Miller’s Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. In addition, Colin has tutored high school students at ‘The Door’ community youth center in lower Manhattan and regularly reads to local Los Angeles-based elementary schools.
